Deciding to sell my property after 16 years was a very tough decision as so many memories were made with family and friends. I felt the property was very unique along with a great location that selling it myself might be a distinct possibility and save myself the realtor commission. After sharing my own “write up” along with a website full of pictures on facebook, emails and text groups I had quite a few bites and even showed the property several times in a very short amount of time. I was feeling pretty good that an offer would come but in the end the bites were just bites and no real offers.
While I was trying to sell it myself I interviewed several land brokers who were all excellent at their craft and represented the top names in the recreational land sales industry. We ended up with multiple offers and sold it on Monday for more than asking price! Without Shay and Midwest Land Group I would likely still be showing it today or would have sold it for less than it was truly worth.
