Jones County Rolling Hardwoods

Property Description

Small timber tracts with great hunting opportunities rarely hit the open market in Jones County. Located just east of Wyoming, Iowa, this 25 +/- acre farm offers beautiful hardwood timber, an established trail system, and deer and turkey hunting in a manageable acreage. Approximately 2 acres are tillable and currently planted to corn, with the balance in timber. Mature white oaks are a highlight, along with cherry trees, marketable timber, and a forest floor littered with acorns.

The rolling ridges and draws make this farm feel bigger than 25 acres, and the trails provide access through the woods for hunting or simply enjoying the property. There are also areas within the timber that could be cleared for secluded internal food plots. This tract joins a large block of timber associated with the neighboring church camp, making it part of a much larger stretch of habitat.

Access is along 42nd Avenue on the west side, just a short distance south of Highway 64, with electricity available at the road. If you’ve been looking for a smaller hunting farm with mature oaks, a little crop ground, and room to make it your own, this is one worth walking.
