Sam Leatherman

Serving Missouri

Sam was raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Maryland and West Virginia where he discovered his passion for hunting and fishing. At 16, he took his first professional guiding job in Colorado and went on to pursue a wildlife degree from Southeastern Illinois College.

He’s spent his career helping hunters and landowners achieve their dreams all across the U.S., from managing hunting camps on the famed King Ranch to serving as the Midwest Director for the Quality Deer Management Association. Sam has a love for learning about wildlife and sharing his knowledge with others; his writings have been published in several national and international magazines.

Prior to coming to Midwest Land Group, Sam was a consultant for Timber Creek Management, a recreational land development company, where he helped design and build hunting properties, wetlands, and fishing lakes. Today, he uses this knowledge to not only help buyers understand the potential a property has and what’s possible for developing a world-class farm, yet also to help his selling clients with showcasing their property in the best light possible.

Sam spends his free time with his wife, Karin, and two daughters, Kenleigh and Shyla, either hunting, fishing, camping, or shooting. He still occasionally guides elk and mule deer hunters in the western states, and loves talking fly fishing. Sam’s passion for land is second to none, and he believes that first-class service should be at the forefront for every single client.
