Cody Smith

Serving Central Missouri

Cody Smith was born in the small Midwest town of Rolla, Missouri. He fell in love with the outdoors growing up as he explored the woods, creeks and rivers of central Missouri and the Ozarks. Cody has walked, hunted and worked on a lot of different properties, seeing the good and improvable along the way. Whether you are selling or buying land, it is helpful to have a land agent capable of seeing a property’s bigger picture and framing it in a way that brings out its true potential for multiple uses. Cody graduated from University of Missouri – Columbia’s School of Natural Resources with two bachelor’s degrees in fisheries & wildlife sciences and forestry sciences and a minor in and biology. The course of study was a natural choice to deepen his innate land knowledge.

After graduation, Cody worked for one of the country’s premier natural resource agencies, the Missouri Department of Conservation. He became adept at working with landowners who have varying degrees of knowledge. Cody doesn’t talk over your head or about what you already know. He listens and offers recommendations that meet your needs. After more than six years in conservation, Cody transitioned from his government position to a self-employed natural resource consultant when he founded MO Woods & Wildlife. “Between these two jobs, I have the experience it takes to interpret your interests, match those with management recommendations, and help you develop a vision for your property whether you’re buying or positioning it for sale. I’ve developed many management plans for various types of properties, ranging from recreational to hunting and income producing,” explains Cody.

Cody takes advantage of many outdoor recreational activities, and they complement the work he does while helping his clients reach their property goals. He treasures spending time with his wife, Heather, canoeing and boating, and in the fall, he’s out catching Muskie or chasing whitetail through the Midwest woods. On game days, you’ll most likely find Cody manning a BBQ grill at a Mizzou football tailgate. “I love meeting new people and helping them improve their property in a way that helps them enjoy it even more. Each property is different and each buyer or seller has goals that are different. I really enjoy seeing them excited about the value of their land,” says Cody. If you want a land agent who has an eye for matching a property with a goal, Cody is the one to talk to.
